Interested in the dynamics between plant and fungal communities after disturbance, my research focuses on mycorhizal fungi in the soil post-fire across Australia. My ongoing project centers on the long-term effects of the 2019-2020 Black Summer megafires, alongside the immediate effects following cultural burns or hazard reduction burns. Spanning national parks around Sydney, diverse Australian ecosystems, and grassy woodlands, this research focuses on applying a fungal trait-based framework to understand the impact they have on the larger ecosystem.
